Kosovo is threatened by fascism: Rugova as an antidote

We know what is the primary responsibility for post-independence misgovernance and ongoing corruption in the country. Just listen to the wiretaps in what was called the Aphera Pronto. But we were obliged to ask another question: who is responsible for the hate language, for the grenade attack on the Kosovo Parliament, for beating and logic [...]

It was February 10, 2007. The murders of LDK activists were halted. Kosovo had anxiously expected negotiations in Vienna with a united political scene. Martti Ahtisaari had presented his Pakon eight days earlier, and this prompted Vetevendosje Movement to organise a protest in which fervent speeches would be held by Albin Kurti and Adem Demaci. The latter, even during times of tensions P DK-LDK was high, did not hesitate to demonstrate Ibrahim Rugova's figure by blowing more fire. On that day, neither Kurt nor Demaci believed that Kosovo would become independent. The protest became violent. Romanian criminal police had fired rubber bullets, killing two young men, and wounding some of them very badly.

Albin Kurti injected us with the idea that Kosovo could be factored. He could set himself up. We could convince the internationals against the negotiations. The country was filled with X-rays that read “not negotiations, Vetevendosje! ” But new negotiations followed. The bias of independence and non-recognition by Belgrade was a major problem that had to be resolved.

And so, Kurt went on for another five or six years to nurture the desire for the National Union and for self-rule. Later, abusive governance led his political position to radically change. From the radically anti-negotiative stance, he became a denounciator of government corruption, and this led to an effort to strengthen Kosovo's liberal internationalism project. By a controversy of the negotiations, he became critical of the lack of negotiations (in T7) that was effectively opposed to the agreement without negotiations). What about the attitudes of February 10, 2007? In the wool.

But the political scene was poisoned. We had a series of violent protests with nationalist characters that made the public sphere worse. We had violence in the Kosovo Assembly, where tear gas was dropped with the help of the Kosovo Police to prevent the development of sessions. Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, against whom eggs were laid, was also violated. Afterwards, someone threw a grenade at the Republic of Kosovo. We had a beating on the TV studio. While social networking became a place where the language of hatred and contempt was poured out.

In Europe, far-right parties (far-right) with their hate rhetoric have fed their enemy, violent radical Islam. Their current existence and strengthening is due to the violence of Islam. And the violence of some Islamic radicals is due to xenophobic rhetoric of right-wing extremists. The same was true in Kosovo. Super-corruptled governments reinforced civic resentment and gave rise to the fascist methods of Vetevendosje, which unintelligiblely thinks of itself as progressive left. The PDK gave birth to Vetevendosje. And Vetevendosje recycled on the other side, just everything he said he believed in. The PDK used to.

All our political parties, with the immediate exception of the LDK, have been captured by their leaders. They belong, not to the citizens of the country, but to leaders who lead them. All will be part of local politics at various functions even in the decades to come, endangered only by Mother Nature.

Poisoning the political scene, hatred and contempt have caused these leaders to rob parties from citizens. Foreign hostility has led these leaders to suppress contentious wills on the inside. And so, instead of the parties serving citizens by holding leaders responsible for their slides, they only give them permission and justify irresponsible actions.

As an antidote to this cruel poisoning of the public sphere a memorial of President Ibrahim Rugova. Rugova was known for his discreet and responsible words about a certain metasic rebellion that recognized existential conditions and respected our state size. In the worst period of our political history, after the war, he resisted the temptation to deepen his animosity with the PDK.

Kosovo is truly corrupt and with a scheme of highly inefficient production, but these should not serve as reasons to keep political parties occupied, to inject fascism and patience, to distribute hatred without sparing. Kosovo needs politicians giving responsibilities. And, no one will offer political responsibilities until we build serious political parties and until we can clearly understand the foundations of our state.

Kosovarocentrism is another value of the Transylvanian spirit, rightly mentioned by Avdullah Hoti of LDK. Kosovo should not and cannot be thought of as a transitional political project because it in itself generates the basic condition for corruption.

Not feeding an etherl concept for your country means opening up the possibilities for running away and misusing it.

After all, no candidate for prime minister offers alternative to dialogue with Serbia -- what painful compromise would they accept? No one promises drastic unemployment. No one vows to fight nepotism through any sacrifice to themselves, the party member body. And that makes completely unacceptable the neo-religious logic that needs hate and violence.

Kosovo has sacrificed too much for our freedoms and rights. For our democracy. And that, it's stealing from us.
