Romanian Minister of Education fired after comments about 15-year-old murder

However, comments following this event by Romania's Education Minister Ekaterina Andronescu on a “television show that children are taught not to get into a car with foreigners” have sparked numerous reactions.
Romanian Prime Minister Viorika Dancila immediately dismissed the minister, viewing the comments as irresponsible, even though she explained that the former minister had declined to blame the victim's parents.
What made the situation worse is the fact that 15-year-old girl while being held by kidnappers had managed to call the emergency service three times, but police waited 19 hours before she started researching the property she was being held.
The local police chief, as well as the interior minister, resigned for the poor handling of the situation.
A 65-year-old man who has pleaded guilty was detained for the murder of Macasan, but has also announced that he killed another teenager who has disappeared since April.
