The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms, through a communiqué for the media, has expressed support for workers at Pristina International Airport CHAdem Jasharı.
KMDLNj calls worker demands rights.
It is the third day that a number of employees at the “Adem Jashari” are striking for realisation of the rights they are entitled to and denied by the management of this airport. Even after the first day of the strike, the airport management to break down the righteous discontent of the strikers took punitive measures against them, not allowing them to enter the airport's space 9 strike with a fabricated argument that they are obstructing work for other employees”, the KMDLNY communiqué says.
KMDLNj is fully aware of the specifics and circumstances at the airport but reminds the airport management that the right to strike is one of the basic human rights that must be respected and which is guaranteed by implementable laws in Kosovo.
Also, the union organisation under which the strike is one of the mechanisms for the realisation of denied rights, which is also the reason for the strike, is regulated by Kosovo's laws so they are irrefutable by all and in the concrete case from the airport management “Adem Jashar” ”, the KMDLNj points out.
KMDLNj, under the mandate to protect human rights, supports the fair demands of airport strikers “Adem Jashari”, requiring the management not to take austerity measures and penalties against strikers because those measures are punishable by law and constitute flagrant and serious human rights violations.
“KMDLNY has been addressed earlier to employees at this airport where they testify to the violations they committed to management, and some cases have managed to resolve positively in co-operation with the Kosovo Labour Inspectorate. KMDLNj had proposed that investigations be made in the case of the deportation of 6 jihadists through this airport and an illegal flight, considering that this deportation constituted a criminal chain link during illegal deportation from which part of management and airport staff “Adem Jashari”)x3> is not excluded from the bottom KMDLNj.
