Nenad Rassic: Co-operation with Serbian List, Belgrade's instrument

This was confirmed by Serbian politician Nenad Rassic days ago.

Nenad Raspi (PDS), Rada Trajkovic (EPS), Dragisa Miriq (NPK), Slavisa Petkovic and Branislav Markovik are part of the political coalition formed.

European Movement of Serbs Chairman Rada Trajkovic has said days before that her only condition for entry into a coalition with Serb opposition parties from Kosovo is the rejection of the Serbian List and Serbia's president's policy, Aleksandar Vuciq.

Meanwhile, Serbian politician and Serbian Progressive Party chief Nenad Rassic have said they believe to create balance in the October elections.

Also, he has said it is possible for other Serbian politicians to join this coalition, showing they have had talks.

We certainly believe that we will be a balance for elections. You have been informed that we have created in the coalition, but even today we have had meetings for new coalitions with people who are authentic representatives of Kosovo Serbs. But, we have a political programme that has the basis for the decision making of local Kosovo Serbs and a more institutional commitment for the good of the whole country. As I said, we expect to see some more coalitions eventually today, and we are in conversation about this. ””, Rascep told news.net.

Asked by news.net whether this coalition can co-operate with Albanian parties, Rassic has said that at this moment, they have failed to analyse the surprising situation following Haradinaj's resignation.

“Look, to tell the truth, with all the political will, I would be willing to think about that, but based on the political programme that the main point is economic growth that is most of the benefit of Kosovo, but at this moment because of a surprise for the date of the elections, we have not simply had time to operate or analyse what might happen, Rassic said.

Further, chief of The PDS, it has said, is interested in having genuine institutional co-operation for the good of the country, while saying there can be co-operation in the future.

There's no time at this moment, but I haven't told you since the first moment 6 years ago that we're going to try to create a moment where it doesn't matter whether the political parties are Serb or Albanian, but those with the best development programme that then shows political parties' professionalism. But at this moment we haven't had much time, but I hope that in the coming years we will have the chance and I'm willing at another moment to think of such a thing”, Raspi told news.

Rassic has expressed open co-operation with Albanian parties following the election results, saying he has the will for co-operation and that he has confidence in Kosovo institutions.

No problem. I even hope that I have shown at any moment, not only the will for co-operation and trust of institutions, but we have constantly created conditions for co-existence and integration and professionalism”, Rassic said.

Asked whether this coalition would co-operate with the Serbian List, Rassic has firmly indicated that no such thing would happen.

He said he sees no room for co-operation with the Serbian List, as they are Belgrade's instrument after him and do not work for Kosovo Serbs.

Look, I don't usually use the word as a red line, because in politics if there's an inclusive interest it's worth discussing. But at this moment I see no room for co-operation with the Serbian List, neither before nor after the elections, because they are just instruments of a political party in Belgrade, which they use only for their interests, not for Kosovo Serbs and therefore we don't agree in essence. I am not interested in being anybody's instrument, except for the people of Kosovo”, Rassic said at the end.

It is noteworthy that the Serbian List has always had the overwhelming majority of votes in Kosovo and have secured seats in the Kosovo Assembly.

Also, this list has continued co-ordination with the Government of Serbia and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, and very often have hampered work in the country's institutions.
