The investigation into Meta resumes on September 2nd, drafts the list of people to be called to testify

Although parliament continues to be on summer holidays, the Parliamentary Commission, which is investigating alleged constitutional violations by President Ilir Meta, has collected a host of information on this investigation, which resumes after September 2nd. The TCC has learned that this commission already possesses the answers to the Central Election Commission, Electoral College and Official Publication Centre.
The presidency has co-operated with this commission by sending back a 20-page material.
It is not yet known whether this commission will invite the head of state to testify, as is envisioned in the regulation of such commissions.
The presidency has not yet answered Top Channel's question if the president will go ahead of this commission in the event he receives such an invitation.
Interestingly, this commission has been requested and received detailed information from State Police and Attorney General for Election Crimes.
Top Channel has seen the application for these two institutions, which are required to provide the data on proceedings related to election crimes for January 1, June 10, 2019, as well as the period after the June 30th death.
It remains unclear why this information will serve the investigative commission.
The Constitutional Commission is taught that it has drafted a list of witnesses, which is kept top-secret.
But on this issue in Tirana on 6 September, a delegation of the Venice Commission will arrive on a fact-finding mission.
This commission will find it easy to give a quick opinion, as there is no lack of precedent. The Venice Commission on a similar issue some time ago when the Moldovan government had a clash with the country's president expressed an opinion that was worth dismissing Moldova's president for constitutional violations.
