Bulgaria pays full price for eight F-16 planes

Bulgaria has paid the full price of $1.2 billion for the purchase of eight F-16 Block 70 fighter aircraft, as well as equipment and monitoring weapons. By doing so, Sofia has fulfilled its obligation on the basis of a series of agreements with the US, Bulgaria's Defence Ministry announced, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
The money was transferred to the competent American agency on August 8th on behalf of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The F-16 procurement agreements were signed by Defence Minister Krasimir Karakachanov and ratified by parliament on 26 July, following Bulgaria's president Rumen Radev's failure to veto the price high cost.
Bulgaria changes its fleet of “Mig-29s<x1 Soviet>. This is the biggest purchase of military equipment in this Balkan country since the fall of communism.
