The seat of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI) is located on all the heads of diplomatic missions the state has around the world. They're going to have security verification.
A newspaper source has indicated that in the first week of August, 37 mission leaders were forwarded to security questionnaires. On the basis of answers and subsequent verification, AKI will find out whether any of the mission chiefs pose an unacceptable risk to security, Koha Ditore” writes today.
These will not be equipped with a security certificate without which access to classified information can not be obtained, nor will the mission's chief's task be exercised.
The information on the launch of this process has been confirmed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent 37 mission chiefs (ambassads, loaded with jobs, and mission chiefs to general consulates) to the process,”, the Ministry says in a written response. “This process has started to be planned by the end of last year and by September 2019 it will be finalised”.
The law in force stipulates that AKI is the verifiable authority, which has the responsibility to develop security verification procedures for all Kosovo public institutions and their contractors.
