The Airport Workers' Union through a media communique suggests that an hour-long strike will take place on August 19th, until on August 20th the strike will be two hours, and on 21st they will have a daily strike.
To this decision, the Union says it has come after failing to find a solution to the airport management.
After much effort and demand to address the airport management to dialogue and to resolve our issues peacefully so far we have not accepted any invitation or readiness on the part of the management to dialogue. We have exhausted all peaceful ways and possibilities for dialogue”, said the communiqué.
The union adds that workers are committed to their demands for which they have even decided through their delegates to go on strike, as they had warned in the peaceful protest held on August 8th.
On the 1908,2019 strike will be one hour from 0800-0900 local time. By 20.08.2019, the strike will be two hours from 8: 00 a.m. to 10: 00 a.m., until on the 21st, we will hold a daily strike of”, the communique says.
It is confirmed that all service workers that are not of vital importance will participate in this strike.
We have the management to coordinate with the Union to set the minimum service to ensure security and avoid any risk of life and security. The strike will cease if it comes to an unpredictable emergency. Also, we invite the management to open the doors for dialogue with the Union so that the strike will stop”, the Union says.
The union on this occasion apologises to fellow countrymen for these developments.
We know that now there's a huge influx of our countrymen flying through the Adem Jashari airport, which we apologize for these developments, which are happening not on our fault, says the communiqué.
