Unexpected: Biden is clearly weakened in the democrat race

Senator Harris opposed former Vice President Joe Biden, the current leader of the race, for his opposition to several antiracial divisions efforts in the 1970s.

A New TV Channel Survey CNN reports Kamala Harris has climbed to second place after former Vice President Joe Biden, in the course of the Democrats' debates last week broadcast by the NBC channel.

Senator Harris apparently received a push from a key moment in the debate, when she directly challenged Mr. Biden's rejection of efforts mandated by the government to eliminate racial divisions in public schools in the 1970s.

You've also worked against integration into the bus system. And then a little girl in California, who in second grade was part of trying to integrate her school, went to school every day by bus. I was that little girl,” said Senator Harris.

Mr. Biden appeared stinged by criticism and defended his commitment and contribution to the civil rights issue as former senator and former vice president.

It was me who extended the Voting Rights Act for 25 years! We did this by receiving the support of 98 senators, all present in the United States Senate. I have strongly supported discussing the question of denying access to ballot boxes”, said Mr. Biden.

Senator Harris has now moved into the group of candidates, including former Vice President Beden, Vermont Senator Bernie Saunders and State Senator Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren, who also held a rise in recent polls.

I think Kamala Harris had a pretty good performance in this debate. Joe Biden's in charge of the race, but there's some support, which is probably weak. The African-American community today has great support for Mr. Biden in the polls. I think Kamala Harris made a move in the debate to win the support of this group of voters that make up 25 percent of the Democratic Party's electorate”, Says John Fortier of the Dypartian Policy Center.

Mr. Biden has led the polls since he entered the race earlier this year. But he now looks weaker, says expert Kyle Condike:

The “will be a test for Mr. Biden if he can keep the level of support he has. Is his level of support generally based solely on the goodwill of voters from President Obama's years, when he was vice president and his known name? Or is there something deeper at the level of support for Mr. Biden that will help him cope with future attacks?

Polls also show that many Democrats still view former Vice President Beden as moderate and consider him the strongest candidate for facing President Trump next year, says Andra Gillespie:

“Biden hopes there are many moderate voters in the preliminary elections, who may be liberal for certain things, but not at the level of his rivals like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren. And that can give him a higher level of comfort. ”

The upcoming democrat debate will be held this month in Detroit, Michigan.
