Northern Serbs continue not to pay electricity bills. These costs according to the Energy Order Office, no one is paying them. But from the Institute for Political Development say the payments are being made from the Kosovo budget of 12m euros annually.
Dardan Azemi from this institute has said that no equal treatment of energy taxpayers is under way.
The “Energy spent in northern Kosovo in 24 hours goes to 50 megawatts. It is estimated that the monthly price of this energy spent in the north is one million euros, which is billed to Kosovo citizens. If not with direct bills on this energy again we Kosovo citizens pay through Kosovo budget”, he told RTV Dukagjin, Dardan Azemi.
Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms Chairman Behgjet Shala has asked citizens to protest the discrimination they are receiving.
The “is absurd for two systems, two standards in a state to function, and for there to be such deep discrimination as happening in Kosovo. The state of Kosovo should not violate anyone's rights, neither Albanians nor Serbs. Serbs are not a people who have drunk from heaven and do whatever they want to:”, Behxhet Shala said.
On the other hand, the Energy Regulatory Office, in a written reply, has said that the northern Serbs have never been sent to the private owner for non-paying the electricity, Telegrafi conveys.
According to the ZRRE, supply operators have not even had the opportunity to fatify the energy spent in that part of the country.
