Heavy accident in northern Macedonia, 33 immigrants to hospital

The accident took place at the site called Gladeski Memorial, between Demir Kapia and Prilep, the Public Prosecutor's Office called.

According to the first information, the 24-year-old driver from Veles has transported immigrants to a brand van “Mercedes” with Skopje license plates on the property of a person from Harachina.

Moving to the highway from Gevgelija to Skopje, the driver has noticed that he is being pursued by police officials.

In an attempt to escape he has moved to the next seat, opened the door, and danced on the highway while the vehicle was on the move.

With inercies, the van has continued to move to the next 40 meters, while then it has rolled back and fallen into a depth of 14m.

In distress they have taken all 33 immigrants, including some minors.

The injured, of whom a piece of serious injuries have been transferred with medical teams to the nearest health institutions in Negotina and Kavadar.

The driver, as they point out in the statement, who after jumping out of the vehicle has fallen into a cliff and received serious bodily injuries and because of their seriousness moved to Skopje clinics.

Public prosecutor and MPB team are making expertise at the scene.

The surgeon, Dano Kulev from Kavadar hospital for MIA, confirmed that nine people have been brought to the hospital.
