The ceremony, in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron, marks the completion of the construction of the first model of these category subs “Barracuda”, 12 similar models, but with normal fuel engines, have been sold to Australia.
This nuclear engine submarine is currently docked to the company's site “Naval Group”.
The actual access to water, which will take place three years late, will take place only at the end of July when breast tests are held, then at sea and then will be delivered to the French Navy base in Toulon before the summer of 2020.
“Models SNA Barracuda” will replace the six current nuclear submarines of the “Rubis” category that entered the service in the early 1980s. / A OVR
