Kosovo's constitution envisions that after the prime minister resigns, the government falls and the president announces new elections.
Article 95 of the Constitution says:
If the prime minister resigns or for other reasons, his/her post remains at large, the government falls, and the president of the Republic of Kosovo, in consultation with political parties or the coalition that has won the majority in the Parliament, mandates the new candidate to form Government.
Haradinaj, following his resignation from the chairman's position, has said the current government will continue with its work until it is transferred to new elections.
After this resignation I return the mandate to the people, you are the first to inform you. The country's government continues to carry out its functions without creating a vacuum, will officially inform all relevant institutions, will always remain loyal to its homeland, was among those serving the country. The resignation is irrevocable”, he said.
The responsibility now passes to the president to start consultations to set the election date. I again offer the people to trust. ʹ/PERISCOP/
