About 20,000 women and men have been the target of violence during the war, and unfortunately, perpetrators are still at large. The needs of the survivors are still in our way, and their main requirement is justice. We all have a moral obligation to offer a more dignified life to all victims of violence”, she said.
The ambassador of Great Britain, Ruairi O'Connell, said everyone must accept the truth, by speaking out and by giving support to survivors. He had two orders for those present and for all Kosovo men.
I agree with Ambassador Costnet. But I want to add that everyone must swear for justice, and that is true for Serbia and Kosovo. There have also been victims of communities in Kosovo, even after June 1999. They deserve justice too. My second message is that we have to accept why no survivors were presented. What we can do in this world. I want to address the men tonight: each of us has to go home today, and let's tell the women that I don't know what happened to you during the war, but you will have support for whatever happened to you.'”, he said.
German Ambassador to Kosovo Christian Heldt said that Kosovo has the same war crimes history with several other countries in the world, but that it has an even greater motivation to engage in fighting impunity.
