The judge condemned them, for the death of 139 people, for the “violation of the constitution” and “attempting to kill President”, the Anadolu news agency reported.
These sentences have tougher prison conditions.
More sentences are expected to be handed out Thursday against others among the 224 suspects in the trial.
Among them is Muslim preacher Fethullah Gulen, whom Turkey accuses of ordering the coup, leaving hundreds dead and thousands more injured in July 2016.
Gulen strongly denies the claims. Turkey has failed to secure its extradition.
