Pompeii is likely to face a severe confrontation in Europe and Asia, especially those countries still engaged in the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran, which President Donald Trump rejected last year.
With tensions in the region mounting after Iran crashed an American plane on June 20th, Trump cancelled an attack on Iran, while Iran's sea commander warned that his forces would not hesitate to do more against American aircraft that violates its own airspace.
The US is adding its military presence in the Persian Gulf, the AP writes.
Pompeii referred to Iran as the world's largest “sponsor of terrorism”.
Meanwhile, recently US President Donald Trump has said he is imposing new sanctions on Iran, including the country's Supreme Leader's office Ali Khamenei.
Trump said additional sanctions were the response to the collapse of an American threat and “many other things”.
He added that they would continue to increase pressure on Tehran”, saying that “Iran could never have nuclear weapons”.
