The Electoral College has decided to drop the National Unity Party's request for deregulation from the June 30th local elections. This College decision is read out in an indirect response to Ilir Meta's decision to abolish June 30th.
The party led by Idajet Beqiri called for unregistering from the election and removal from the voting list based on Meta's decree, but the Electoral College did not accept it as a requirement, leaving the decision previously made by the Central Election Commission in effect.
The decision was made by Arthur Malaj, Shkelqim Mustafa, Ridvan Hado, Toorr Shkreli and Lindita Sinanaj.
Outside college facilities, head of PUK, Idajet Beqiri, questioned whether he expects this institution to be expressed even on Ilir Meta's decree to abolish June 30th, said: “actually the essence of our indictment, that is, that every indictment has a cause. The main reason we filed the indictment was the president's decree. Our decision was legal and political. ”
During the hearing, Idajet Beqiri also explained the reasons for his indictment. He stressed that he was caught unawares by the president's decision to abolish June 30th, as he was convinced elections would be held.
However, Beqiri stressed that he was facing college by indictment after the CEC refused to unregister him.
As for the Constitutional Court, Beqiri said: “We didn't have to come to the Constitutional Court because it had given its verdict, then we had no other action but to ask to withdraw from the elections. We want to not participate in the June 30th elections and PUK to be removed from the ballot sheets. ”
The electoral colgia must solve this stalemate, the CEC did not unregister us, as well as bring the publication to the Official Library (of Presidential Decree). So I demand that you pick this mess out of your”, the head of PUK/tch/
