Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has given two different answers regarding the tax, when it is questioned by reporters after meeting Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Initially, he has said no tax removal has been asked and has continued with his stance that it will not be removed.
“It's not a matter today. It's not even the next day. Tax removal not required. It has been talked about in the context of Dialogue, but the tax is not removed”, Haradinaj said.
Later, the prime minister has indicated that at the meeting with Merkel, the issue of suspension of the tax has been discussed, when it is in the context of continuing Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue.
“Kancelar was interested in the possibility of continuing dialogue, so a concrete dialogue, and conglomerating Dialogue. In the context of that, also the issue of mutual confidence-building actions. We are not in that situation of making decisions for suspension, or any certain action, but the issue has also been discussed. But, there is an epilog”, Haradinaj has indicated at the media conference.
On the basis of these two Haradinaj statements, Angela Merkel has not requested tax removal, but has requested suspension in order to continue dialogue, as the United States of America has requested.
