He has said this meeting is very harmful for Kosovo and dialogue with Serbia.
Through a Facebook post, Ahmeti has said such secret meetings conflict with all the fundamental principles the delegation represents.
You can read the complete post of Shpend Ahmeti below:
The meeting held in Berlin between Avni Arifi and Marko Djuriqi, as a continuation of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia as secret, and without any warning or consultation, is unacceptable and very harmful for political developments in Kosovo and in dialogue with Serbia.
Through the Resolution for Dialogue establishing the State Delegation and Law for the Delegation that sanctions this last of its competencies and responsibilities, the Republican Parliament deputies have been defined for other forms of decision-making dialogue belonging to the Parliament. This mechanism for the first time has brought democratic, transparent, and legitimate decision-making decisions to Kosovo in terms of the dialogue process with Serbia, as well as has created mechanisms for political and social consensus. Such secret meetings conflict with all the fundamental principles that the delegation represents -- that is, the nontransparent meeting, away from the eyes of MPs and the public, without any legitimacy.
The Assembly has also adopted the state platform for Dialogue, which clearly outlines Kosovo's guiding principles in dialogue. There is clearly and exponentially determined that there is no technical and political dialogue, much less the continuation of the kind of dialogue we have had so far. So this meeting, and the eventual topics discussed in it, are in stark conflict with the guiding principles of the platform.
The PSD has intended dialogue with Serbia for the first time to get a dimension of political rationality and democratic legitimacy and to be based on documents and transparent meetings. So we also proposed that the Assembly should run it. So we have taken the Resolution, the Law, and the Reformation seriously. Because we think this is the only way that Kosovo's interest is protected, and how it is possible to unite political forces and social organisations on such an important issue. Clearly: With the ridicule and inconsistencies of others, with the irresponsible protagonism of the institutional leaders, we have not accomplished anything, and we have suffered a lot. It doesn't mean we keep going the same way.
