Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has gathered the Consultative Council for Communities today.
At a meeting with members of the Municipal Consultative Council, the head of state has strongly condemned yesterday's attack on a woman in Lipjan, of whom irresponsible and unjustly reported to the media that she is involved in criminal acts. There is no room for violence in Kosovo, there is no room for attacks against anyone, there is no room for prejudice”, said President Thaci.
At this meeting the president has commended members of the Consultative Council for continuing engagement in improving the legal framework to promote and better protect community rights.
Thank you for constantly raising the concerns of Kosovo communities. As president of the country I support your work and am satisfied with the cooperation we have built so far. My priority is to encourage internal dialogue in Kosovo. This is also true of dialogue among Kosovo communities, as the best way to advance and protect the rights of all communities”, said President Thaci.
These days until we mark the 20th anniversary of NATO intervention and commemorate the first victims of two decades, President Thaci stressed that we all become more aware of the tragedies that war and conflict bring.
This made us even more determined and persistent in dialogue between all communities, which are the wealth of Kosovo. Forum like this one is a pillar of building peace and stability in the region. The pillar of making Kosovo a common home for all communities”, he has said.
President Thaci has stressed that he carefully conveys the situation of communities in Kosovo.
I had the satisfaction of participating in the opening of the Montenegrin Community Development Centre in Kosovo. I've had the pleasure of waiting at your office or coming to you on the national day note for each community. The message from all these meetings is that Kosovo is home to all its communities. And that all Kosovo state institutions are committed to supporting and promoting all communities”, President Thaci said.
Reading the Progress Report released yesterday, President Thaci has said that in the part of human rights in Kosovo, there is apparent improvement in the construction of legal infrastructure.
The focus now should be on improving the implementation of this infrastructure. I invite you to play an active role by engaging in monitoring and reporting implementation of all projects to ensure general rights in Kosovo”, President Thaci has said.
Members of the Consultative Council for Communities, on the other hand, announced President Thaci's achievements and concerns with their communities.
“Security and economic development are the main concerns of all citizens”, they found.
President Thaci welcomed the contributions of members of the Consultative Council for Communities and invited them to continue co-operation.
