He has asked Greeks to vote to continue the social policies his government is implementing right now that Greece is recovering economically.
Greece does not turn back. On Sunday we will decide what plan the country will move forward, now that we've come to light after aid programmes, now that we can free to plan tomorrow for our country”, Tsipras says.
While opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis has chosen Thessaloniki to call on supporters of his party to grant victory by means of the vote and force the party to step down by proclaiming the national elections, while criticising the four-year-old government of Tsipras.
I listened to the voice of Greeks, their patience, their years of waiting, the hope that something could finally change for the better in this country, I heard the will to leave behind the lies”, Mitsotakis said.
About 9.9 million Greeks, of whom over 530,000 for the first time, will go to the polls Sunday to select 21 eurodeputs from 40 parties and political formations, as well as elect their representatives to local power.
While 5 years ago Syriza has won this election by 3.8% more votes, recent polls provide a margin of between 1.2 and 7.5 % in favour of conservatives, but since 2014 the polling companies have never been credible.
If Prime Minister Tsipras is due to come out of this election by narrow margin, with less than 3% of the conservatives, then opportunities to announce early elections within June are numerous. Otherwise, they will be held in autumn of this year. The particular part of these elections is the participation of many Albanian citizens not only as voters, but also as candidates.
