In a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, they underscore that for the first time they reached an agreement in the Balkans.
Eurodeputs also stress that this award will encourage the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia to reach an agreement.
The two prime ministers took this step, accepting high pressure within their countries. Their candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize carries to the whole message, that courage exceeds national boundaries, and that message must be rewarded”, says the letter.
This award will support Zoran Zaev and Alexis Tsipras in the process of reconciliation and acceptance of the agreement in their countries, and will encourage other countries with very complicated ethnic differences to follow suit in order to contribute to a quiet region with mutual recognition and respect, says Vizion Plus.
Zaev and Tsipras signed the Prespa Agreement last year, which resolved the 30-year conflict between the two countries.
