Wessel has mentioned the numerous massacres and crimes Serbia committed in Kosovo, saying it is internationally recognised that under Slobodan Milosevic's brutal regime, Albanians in Kosovo were victims and targets of systematic violence.
As a result, Veselin has written, about one million Kosovars -- more than half of the population -- have been forced to leave Kosovo, with another half a million displaced within the country.
In total, about 90 percent of the ethnic Albanian population became refugees or displaced persons. 13,535 were killed. Among them were 1230 children, including babies and other young children”, said among other things in Prime Minister Wessel's letter.
He has mentioned fate still unresolved for thousands of missing persons.
“over ten years of its existence, Kosovo has shown it is a peace-loving country and actively seeking positive relations with all its neighbours, including Serbia. However, I must say that much has yet to be done to enable healing, and part of this healing is accepting the truth”, said further in the letter of Chief Parliamentary Wessel.
Wessel has asked all friendly countries to issue a resolution through which the truth of Serbian crimes is confirmed in Kosovo.
On behalf of the Kosovo Assembly, I would like to invite you and your colleagues to enable formal recognition of the historical injustice that has been done against my people. This can be done through a resolution that highlights and condemns crimes against humanity that have occurred in Kosovo”, says Wessel's letter.
Such a letter, days ago by the Kosovo Assembly Speaker, has been sent to the American Congress.
