Thaci has written that this Berlin meeting will not bring new process, but will seek opportunities for continuing dialogue and reaching an agreement with Serbia.
In addition, the president has written that he expects from Germany and France support for the visa liberalisation process for Kosovars, and that if this does not happen, then this meeting will be disappointing for citizens.
The full post of President Thaci:
These days I have continued my recent consultations with international partners for tomorrow's conference in Berlin, invited by Chancellor Merkel and President Macro.
I welcome the increased commitment of Germany and France about the Western Balkans in general, as well as Kosovo in particular.
Substantial progress to date will be assessed at this meeting.
The Berlin meeting will not bring a new process, but will require opportunities for resolving problems, taking a successful agreement between northern Macedonia and Greece as an example.
At the meeting, the particular emphasis will be given to continue the possibility of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia for reaching a comprehensive and final agreement that will bring ever greater stability to the Western Balkans.
I also expect Chancellor Merkel and President Macron to show support for visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens, as a respect for the contract between the European Union and Kosovo.
Kosovo has met all criteria and deserves free movement like all other citizens of the region and the continent.
If something like that does not happen, the Berlin meeting will be disappointing for Kosovo citizens.
At this meeting, I will also request the condemnation of Serbia's genocide state in Kosovo in 1998-1999.
We will also focus on opportunities for economic co-operation and on strengthening the rule and law, in particular on fighting corruption and organised crime.
We will also confirm our commitment to continue without compromise to the fight against radicalism, terrorism and any kind of extremism! HTH
