Sources close to the ruling coalition have told Koha Ditore there was no will on the part of Wessel to meet with the prime minister, due to his refusal to suspend the tax for 120 days.
Since the end of January, Veselin and Haradinaj have only been seen at joint meetings with international diplomats, President Thaci and other coalition partners, where the central theme has been the requirement for tax removal and dialogue with Serbia.
The same day, when Haradinaj had set his terms for tax removal, the main one -- recognition of Kosovo's citizenship on the part of Serbia, Wessel, after meeting with US Ambassador Philip Costet, published the proposal for suspending the tax so that it can give a chance to dialogue with Serbia. That was on January 28, this year. Wessel had even warned that if the prime minister puts the country in conflict with strategic partners, the coalition could collapse. But, Prime Minister Haradinaj has said that even if the Government falls and the country goes to the polls, the tax will remain in force. The paper has asked Haradinaj and Wessel's cabinets for lack of communication, as well as for eventual meetings that have not been made public. But no one has offered answers.
