The Turkish president looked along with the mass of people on the big screen when Brenton Tarrant carried out the attack.
In such a move, Erdogan hit opposition leader Kemal Kılıdanoğlu, who is accused of inciting hatred of Muslims.
“What the difference between you and Australian senator” asked Erdogan, referring to Australian right-wing Senator Fraser Anning, who after the attack, said the real cause of bloodshed on the streets of New Zealand was the immigration programme, allowing Muslim fanatics to emigrate to this country.
“at this point you are with terrorism”, the Turkish president said, in reference to a speech by Kılıçdaroğlu on March 15th, where he spoke of Islamic extremism.
“It will pay for this on 31 March, Erdogan said, the date on which local elections in the country will be held.
At least 49 people died and 20 others were injured in the terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch in New Zealand.
