US: Dialogue brings mutual recognition in 2019, we will not accept any agreement

Reaching a comprehensive agreement within 2019 and mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia is the position of the United States of America, which an American Government official has spoken about in a conversation with the newspaper. But the U.S. finds it impossible to offer a guarantee that it will not come under question [...]
The American official has told <x0 Ditore” that it is up to the parties to go towards the agreement they want, so they have not even put red lines in the process. However, it has made clear that not any agreement will be acceptable to the United States.
Despite the implications and risks associated with changing borders in the Balkans, mentioned as one of the possible options, the American official says he should not be afraid of the dialogue and the epilogue he brings. It has made clear that it is not America's policy to dictate the content of the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. But the final goal should be mutual recognition and opening the perspective of both countries' integration into the European Union and for Kosovo membership in the UN, the US official has said.
He has acknowledged that it will not be easy to reach the agreement taking into account the positions of the parties, but has insisted there should be greater commitment. But, it has repeated several times that, the comprehensive agreement must be concluded with mutual recognition and that, “this has also become clear to Serbia's president, Vuciq”. America wants the deal reached by 2019.
