Bahtiri nervouss with Haradinaj: Embarrassing how he is exploiting the Kosovo issue of political points

While the mayor of this municipality countered Haradinaj, saying his idea is like crystal, as Mitrovica must function as a municipality with a status status.

Mayor Bahtiri said the mistake, which was made long ago, should be improved, because the municipality in the north is not functional.

As he said his initiative should not become as large, as in concrete case by Prime Minister Haradinaj.

Agim Bahtiri's “Ide is like crystal. Mitrovica must function as a municipality with a status. The mistake of breaking up has to be improved because it's not functional. I don't know what's making these people big. With Ahtisaari's plan, it is meant to have several municipalities. But if municipalities are not functional then they return to their previous status. We haven't worked for four years now. It was one-sided, that is, there has been total discrimination of Albanians. Do not allow the return of Albanians to the north. They have done nothing in that direction to do something for the good of its citizens, but they have brought people from the former Yugoslavia and placed them in the north to destroy the majority and minority. For this I demand that Mitrovica's previous status be turned back”, he has said of Telegrafi.

Bahtiri stressed that his initiative has nothing to do with developments that will take place in Brussels.

“This has nothing to do with developments that will happen in Brussels. I have been declared that we never need and in no second leave a palm of land, of the Republic of Kosovo someone, but the right is ours to manage them within Kosovo. I'm just asking for the former status of the municipality because it's not effective for parallel structures to lead in the northern part. This is the evil”, fired Bahriri.

He called on the country's prime minister to leave party issues rather than exploit Kosovo's issues for political points.

“I don't know what the country's prime minister is not wanting, and don't link the Kosovo issue with party issues, I had begged the prime minister to leave the party and let him serve all the citizens of Kosovo, not to take the political party position, as this is shameful”, he said.

Asked where the question of starting petitions he has undertaken for the union of Mitrovica remains at the moment, Bahtiri said: “E have sent to the Parliamentary Groups in the Kosovo Assembly on Wednesday. We've legalized it and now we see. They have my back. I don't want intimate conversations with them face-to-face, but I want a conversation in public”

Mitrovica's chairman also indicated that today during the day there will be a meeting with the top speaker, Kadri Veselin, where one of the topics to talk will be the petition issue as well.

“With the meeting that I will hold with Wessel today, I expect positive answers and the total departure of subjects, so that once and for all this state will function normal, rather than groups”, Mitrovica municipality chairman Agim Bahtiri said, among other things.

Meanwhile, in the law on administrative borders of municipalities Article 3 paragraph 3.5 respectively, explains that if municipalities are not satisfied with the decision of administrative borders, they could file complaints at the Constitutional Court.

“Communates can file a complaint with the Constitutional Court if they are not satisfied with the decision on the municipalities' administrative borders”, the law says.

While Article 8 paragraph 9.2 explains that administrative boundaries cannot be changed without consultation with citizens or municipalities affected by that change.

Otherwise, the petition for the union of Mitrovica with 16,594 signatures by the citizens of Mitrovica has been submitted for the first time on January 16th to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, but this petition, which was later handed over by the Assembly in the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and from there to the Ministry of Management and Power Local (MAPL), did not receive adequate support. Later the mayor of this municipality, Agim Bahtiri last week handed over this petition to the country's president, Hashim Thaci.
