American and Russian General meet in Vienna

“The two army leaders will talk about Russian operations in Syria, the military relations between the US and Russia, the state of international security, and other questions”, American Army spokesman Patrick Ryder has said.
US President Donald Trump had surprised the lawmakers of this state and all international allies when he announced he would withdraw about 2,000 American troops from Syria. He had said the US Army no longer needs to stay in Syria after the Islamic State has been defeated.
Republicans and Democrats had criticised the decision, saying that the swift evacuation of troops would leave Kurds in Turkey's mercy and that it was victory for Russia and Iran as well.
Russia and Iran have offered continued support to the Bashar al-Assad government during the civil war, while the United States and Turkey have supported various rebel groups, writes “Free Europe”.
