Rexhep Selimi says he wants the partition of Kosovo, but for him to do Albin Kurti

Rexhep Selimi, deputy of the Movement led by Albin Kurti, has said joining the Presevo Valley should happen, but without violating Kosovo's sovereignty and territory. He didn't explain what circumstances that would be like.

He made these comments at a news conference held for the media, adding that President Hashim Thaci is trying to manipulate the Presevo Valley theme only to create discurs for partitioning Kosovo.

“The situation of Albanians living in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc remains an unattended factor on Serbia's part. It is now known that Serbia has done nothing to improve the rights of Albanians in the Presevo Valley. Albanians of these three municipalities are in serious condition. So far, President Thaci has prepared a resolution to bring him to the Assembly and has to do with Albanians living in these three municipalities”, Selimi said.

The VV) MP also cited the resolution adopted on the subject.

And let's not forget there were other resolutions that were adopted in the Parliament on this issue, but so far nothing has been implemented. The talk is already about uniting this area, but is spoken of in the context of the territorial exchange plan between Kosovo and Serbia. This is unacceptable and dangerous”.

Despite frequent contacts between the Government or the Presidency with political representatives of the Presevo Valley, no agreement exists so far. There is no written agreement. We have never managed to condition Serbia to respect the rights of Albanians living there. So I don't know how to force Serbia to give up these three municipalities”, he added.

He has also talked about the visit of Albanian President Edi Rama.

“specifically those who violate the rights of Albanians in Kosovo are guaranteeing they are respecting the rights of Albanians in the Valley. We should stress that the Albanian national flag is forbidden to be used there. A day after President Rama's visit there, all organisers who have held national flags” have been arrested.

Remember that there was a referendum in 1992, and that referendum should be respected. The union of three municipalities should happen, but with United Kosovo. We must understand that Serbia's integration into the European Union, Albanians have it in their hands”.

That, according to him, is happening after President Hashim Thaci is manipulating the Presevo Valley theme.

President Thaci has not rarely manipulated the Presevo Valley issue. It's just about creating a record to introduce ourselves as an interested person. This is only a lure to realise the partition of Kosovo. Thaci is manipulating and not trying to solve the problem in the Presevo Valley”, Selimi concluded.
