Popular physician Burdushi warned yesterday that a hunger strike would begin for today, complaining he is being discriminated against because of his ethnic affiliation. The news was confirmed by his lawyer, Asdren Hoxha.
According to the lawyer, Burdushi has not been questioned by the prosecution for three months and this is one of the reasons for the strike.
Hysni Peqani, known as Burdushi, is accused of several criminal acts.
Buddushi has been sentenced by Prizren's Constitutional Court to 1 years in prison and 5 thousand euros in fines for criminal fraud.
According to the prosecution's indictment, “Burdushi” was charged with the accusation that from 20,06.2014 to 12.08.2014 in Prizren, hiding the facts and with the aim of illegally benefiting property for himself or the other person, or in order to cause damage to the other person, cheats or continues the injury.
