Today, the Constitutional Court has suspended the Law for Salaries, leaving more than 60,000 workers without salary increases.
The incumbent Minister of Health, Ismaili Bridge, has also reacted in this regard.
He has indicated that this decision, which has been suspended for implementation until March 30th of 2020, is disappointing and frustrating.
Ismaili has indicated that public sector workers have had to take rising salaries this month, calling the decision depressing.
“For two continuous years we have worked to improve working conditions for health professionals and provide them with dignified salaries to stay in Kosovo. This decision greatly jeopardises our efforts to stop the departure of health professionals from our country. I am extremely disappointed with the suspension, procrastination, and resistance to this law. Health professionals do not deserve this treatment”, Ismaili wrote.

The Constitutional Court's modern - day decision to suspend the implementation of the Law on Salaries by March 30, 2020 is as disappointing as frustrating. Health professionals, along with other public sector workers, have had to receive their salary on the rise by the end of this month. Tew is now said, two weeks before they enjoy dignified salaries, expected decades, that they will continue to be paid as they have been paid so far, it is very depressing. For two continuous years we have worked to improve working conditions for health professionals and provide them with dignified salaries to stay in Kosovo. This decision greatly jeopardises our efforts to stop the departure of health professionals from our country. I am extremely disappointed with the suspension, procrastination, and resistance to this law. Health professionals do not deserve this treatment.
