Your Honor,
Since more than two months have now passed after the 6 October elections, we have time after time as the Social Democrat Party to assess the election outcome and the reasons for the election outcome. During this period, we have discussed matters at the top several times. Since various reasons have been discussed, it has been a common denominator of the analysis, and it has been that we do not point fingers at anyone individually because we all have responsibilities for decisions made and that we believe have made reasonable and right decisions.
Of course, my greatest responsibility is as chairman of the subject. To not ask for responsibility from any individual, as chairman of the subject I have requested the PSD Assembly meeting as the highest decision-making body on the subject. Since even the statue of PSD calls for holding elections after national elections for the Kosovo Assembly, today I've requested from the Parliament The PSD holds extraordinary elections for all party governing structures starting with the chairman. This allows us collectively to reflect and take responsibility as a party. This proposal was unanimously approved, and from today the PSD will have new chairman and new Council. Then the Council will vote on the new chairmanship and other leadership positions in the party.
I also announce that I have decided not to run for any position in the party. The first as taking responsibility for the election outcome, but the main reason is my main and only commitment to the Pristina municipality. From now on and until the end of the mandate in the Pristina municipality, I will not take any further commitment to any other institutions by focusing fully on fulfilling the promises given in 2017.
Kosovo needs real and strong opposition no matter who is in government. I am convinced that the PSD has enough people and professional frameworks to lead it to the ongoing challenges of addressing social problems, providing social democrat solutions, and monitoring the government.
I wish you success in the next challenge. The Socialocracy for me remains the only way to solve social problems.
