Remembering the crimes, memorizing their authors and making a reputation worthy of victims is a responsibility that never stops. This is non-negotiable and inseparable from our country. Being aware of this responsibility is part of our national identity”, the Chancellor, the first German leader to visit Auschwitz since 1995, stressed.
With her voice trembling, she insisted that it was important to give Auschwitz his full name. Situated in present - day Poland, the camp was located in an annexed region in 1939 by Rach and was managed by the Germans.
