The oldest recipe in the world is now decoordinated by experts, but it seems more like a list of ingredients than a literal recipe: “Use meat and add fine water and salt, then barley, onions and milk. Add garlic. ”
The recipe is flawed because part of it has not been found. But it is impossible to detect missing parts. The writer of this recipe died over 4,000 years ago.
But an international team of researchers, who have a special interest in kitchen history, food chemistry, and Babylonian writing, have worked together to make this ancient course.
“It's like trying to rebuild a song; a single note can make a whole difference”, said Gojko Barjamovic, a Harvard University Aziology expert.
The challenge of this cooking was to understand the use of typical foods of the time, while also preserving the authenticity where modern ingredients are not allowed to be introduced, nor mass nor mature.
