The election process's extension appears to be increasing the appetite for more power between the two partners expected to form the ruling LVV and LDK coalition.
Recently in the media, the Democratic League of Kosovo is asking for more space to govern with Albin Kurti's party, demanding that in the post of prime minister, the LDK take 7 ministries, the post of prime minister and presidential office.
For political analysts, the LDK's demands from the principled ones are going through the deals.
According to analyst Armend Muja, LVV and LDK in the attempt to form the pre-election coalition, the only issue they could not negotiate, has been the post of prime minister.
According to Muja, both parties at the time had agreed that the number of ministries met both equally -- 50 to 50.
And according to Muja, in essence this would have to happen even now, following the announcement of the results of the October 6th elections, where the winning party emerged the Vetevendosje Movement.
Analyst Muja doubts the rise in LDK appetites has come because of three reasons.
The “in essence is entitled to have 50 %s of slaves under the agreement both parties have had in principle. Any movement beyond this is an attempt to sabotage the preliminary agreement, or attempt to sabotage another party's victory, or to turn this agreement from that principle, to political markets”, Muja has said in a conversation with Periscope.
The renowned analyst has also expressed surprise at how the president's post on the part of the LDK was suddenly put on the table. Citing the Constitution of Kosovo, he has indicated that the post of president should reflect the unity of the people, which would result in neither of the two parties that may be in power not to enjoy this post, but that the president is a unifying, internationally acceptable figure but also from the opposition.
“The president under the Kosovo Constitution must reflect the unity of the people. I think that Kosovo has enough figures for the president's position to be beyond these political parties, a mediating figure to be acceptable even to the opposition”, Muja has said further.
For the division of the posts, none of the individual parties have confirmed the LDK's request for 7 ministries. They have indicated that this issue has never been discussed between meetings between the two parties' working groups for the governing programme.
While confirming that the division of positions will be discussed among party leaders, LVV's Albin Kurti, and LDK's Isa Mustaf.
Several days ago, LDK deputy chairman who was also a candidate for prime minister from this party, Vjosa Osmani, had declared that the prime minister's post weighs as much as 4 ministries. This statement had been answered by LVV deputy leader Glauk Konjufca, who has said that “for prime minister sʹka counterweight, and no calculator”.
By contrast, the LDK and LVV have indicated that 90 per cent of the government programme have agreed during working groups' meetings. As for tomorrow (Friday), LVV leader Albin Kurti has warned the meeting with LDK chairman Isa Mustafen.
In the event of forming the ruling coalition between LVV and LDK, one thing is already clear that the future government will be made up of only 12 ministries. /Periscopi/
