He is considered the person who handed over to The Hague tribunal former President Slobodan Milosevic. In an interview for Tv Klan, he says Serbia has surrendered to Kosovo, which has committed crimes there but needs to find a solution.
“We, with our policy towards Kosovo, the idea of the Serbian state and the state where Serbs and Albanians live, have brutally burned it. When we first killed that Mr. Kelmendi one morning, the first murder we took our children and our wife out of the house. We killed it in Serbia then”.
Journalist: You said Serbia has surrendered to Kosovo...
Of course. The chapter was the same as the Germans in 45 when they first surrendered to Americans and then Zhukov arrived and said again and surrendered to the Russians”.
Journalist: Independent Kosovo, right, what do we call this in Serbia?
“How can it be called when the foreign army allows it to enter your territory and you withdraw from there forever?
Journalist: Is Serbia really ready to make a final deal?
“is not ready, as is Kosovo”.
Jovanovic, one of the associates of the late Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, says Russia is the one who stands in the way of the agreement, while the United States has not been coherent.
The “Russians will not allow the consolidation of this part of Europe. It's not in their interest. That's their policy. The Russians should be afraid of these others, you can't trust them. Was Hoyt Yi, then Mitchell, Palmer and now Grelli... who are we talking to”?
Jovanovic insists Serbia should have recognised Kosovo, but has missed several chances for solutions since 99, with Rambouillet and later with Ahtisaari's plan.
