Why Earthquakes Happen in Albania

During my training in Germany, I have experienced what a truly great earthquake means. One of the training steps in Berlin was the time we had to spend in a specific earthquake room, where specialists “forced” to experience a magnitude earthquake over 6 on the Richter scale. I think many people [...]
I think that many people in us have not experienced a great earthquake, since the last of these dimensions occurred on April 15, 1979, in Shkodra. Hence, this scripture speaks of why the earthquake kills and destroys.
Why Earthquakes Happen in Albania
Albania is part of the Alpine generation Mediterranean. This situation has come as a result of the confrontation of the Adriatic Table with part of Orogenes. The most endangered areas are the area of the Albanian coast, the second area to pose danger is the Leskovik Korca Pogradec area, while the third area is regarded as the area of Lushnje quite Elbasan Pesh Bishop. Such distribution seems to have to do with the geology and tetonic construction of our territory. During the newest geological stages, these regions have been subjected to powerful fragmentation and differential. They are interrupted by a number of breaks, which are perceived by a high degree of differentiation. More powerful earthquakes seem to be at the crossroads. The peak of earthquakes in our country goes back to 25 years, and this indicates that our country has great seismic activity. According to estimates, by the probability of 75%, Albania is affected annually by an earthquake of magnitudes not higher than 4.7, once in 50 years by a magnitude earthquake of no larger 6.1 and once 100 years by a magnitude earthquake no higher than 6.4. Among the areas most exposed by earthquakes is the Lezha coast of Ulcinj.
Panic from the earthquake...
Citizens need to know that, after a seismic activity, especially with magnitude over 5, in 99 %s of the cases is accompanied by posthumation. I'm taking the case of the earthquake in Italy on August 24, 2016, with a magnitude 6.2 on the Richter scale, which was accompanied in 10 minutes by another 4.2 quake on the Richter scale and in 20 minutes with a 5.2 earthquake on the Richter scale. This means that even the afternoons are in many cases as dangerous as the first quake, but they come down to lower their intensity. During an earthquake, quietness should first be maintained, sitting right on the floor, gathering your hands and arms before the earthquake strikes you, sitting under a table or furniture that cannot collapse on you. When the quake begins, do not move from one room to another, but cautiously leave the apartment after the quake.
Albania, 43rd World's Threat to Earthquakes
Worldwide, Albania takes 43rd place for earthquake risk. On a global threat map from this natural phenomenon, Albania is located in the red zone, classifying it among countries with higher risk from earthquakes. From evidence thus far held, results from the 2nd century BC to our day, Albania has been hit by 55 strong earthquakes with intensity to eight.
Their destructive activity has caused man to deepen in his studies to succeed in making possible predictions by minimizing the damage, at least saving lives. Earthquakes cannot be predicted, but by being prepared by the regions conducted, effective measures can be taken, without possible disasters. Professors with their work have prepared seismic maps of the region's seismicization in Albania, including the most dangerous earthquake areas, or to show construction experts that constructive measures must be taken to withstand earthquakes.
