They added that they would officially request the withdrawal of this award.
On behalf of the Srebrenica Mothers, we will send an official letter to the Nobel Committee for the withdrawal of the award to Peter Handke”, said Munira Subasic, president of the association.
” A man who has defended the slaughter of the Balkan wars cannot receive such gratitude”, she stressed.
Handke is a Serbian philosopher and has been charged by Bosniaks with denying the crimes committed by Serbs during the 1990s wars in the former Yugoslavia.
Severe criticism of the Austrian was also made by Bosniak member of the country's presidency, Sefik Xhaferovic.
This is scandalous and shameful”, he said.
