Vetevendosje Movement member Rexhep Selimi, commenting on the election result, where this party came first, said Kosovo citizens have voted for change and believed in Vetevendosje Movement.
He said that this citizens' confidence came for two reasons -- the first because they trusted the Vetevendosje Movement project, and the second continuing misgovernance from all successive governments.
Kosovo's “Citizens have made the difference, not because they did not want it before, but have already made it much clearer as to what the address of change is, and the Vetevendosje Movement continues to remain the address of positive change in Kosovo, however, even the address of their faith and hope that something in this country will change for the better in this country”.
So the main reason why we've come out the winner is because citizens have trusted our project, the other side of the medal I can call also the continuing mismanagement of all previous governments. This has already shown once again that the greatest power is in the hands of citizens and what they know to do sometimes can't even be imagined”, Selimi said.
But despite taking the first in the race for the new government, Vetevendosje's Movement won with close results followed by the Democratic League of Kosovo with about 5 thousand different votes in the preliminary results announced by the Central Election Commission, and for that it will need a partner to govern with the country.
Selimi says the LDK has never interrupted co-government talks.
“With the Democratic League of Kosovo is not that we have already discussed for the first time, we have had ongoing talks even before the elections, asking that we have a pre-election majority, the circumstances were such that we went alone and yet we still came out first, but we have never interrupted the talks even said since before the elections that we were not going into the pre-election coalition that means the post-election coalition because of the positions of the two parties in this case 11x1>
Selimi voiced opposition to any co-operation with the Serbian List regarding co-government.
“As regards co-operation with the Serbian List we respect the Serb community in Kosovo. The Serbian list continues to remain Serbia's parallel institution in Kosovo and I do not see any kind of co-operation with them”.
Selimi questioned about the case where the member of this party, Sali Zyba, publicly threatened Shpend Ahmeti, said he is not notified about the case, but that the Vetevendosje Movement does not threaten anyone and now must work.
I have no knowledge of this, I can be a failure to know anything about this problem. But neither threats nor reasons for threatening anyone, in this case we must work”, he said.
