Such action has also been held on the “Adrian Krasniqi” route, where cars that have been parked on the sidewalk have been placed tickets that their owners must be obliged to appear at the Central Police Station.
Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha has told Kosova Preis that police action is within the framework of the plan to free the sidewalks.
“As we have announced to you earlier from June 10, 2019, when implementation of the plan to free the sidewalks has begun, and until this stage only in the region of Pristina, more than 15,260 traffic fines for illegal parking. Numerous punitive measures -- fines and seizures -- have been undertaken both in terms of meeting the flow of vehicles and in coping with pedestrian movement, both in the city and outside of it”, he said.
Hoxha, through a written response, said that based on citizens' complaints about blocking sidewalks in the city, Pristina's police station units, since June 10th 2019, have started implementing the operational plan, exclusively seen for cleaning sidewalks from banned parking lots.
He said the plan will have scope throughout the capital's road space and tolerance for the counter-takers will be zero.
All cars that will be parked irregularly and in designated parking spaces will have official notification of mandatory representation at the police station, where the party will be pronounced a fine for counter-invention. Reminding you that our goal is not punishment, we look to all drivers to observe the standards and regulations of the Law for the Rules of Traffic”, he said. /M. Duraku.
