Jevtiq: Government formation impossible without Serbian List

Serbian List Deputy Chairman Dalibor Yevtic said today that without talks with the Serbian List, which won all 10 seats with the Serbian mandate, it is impossible to form the new Kosovo government. He's in an interview for RTS said it is very important that the Serbian List won all 10 seats, as it leaves no room for any of the Albanian leaders to trade with the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo.
This is why it was important for us to win at a large percentage,” said Jevtic.
He said that Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti's statement that he would be a representative of Serbs in the government, but not even a representative of the Serbian List, speaks of what he would like, but that, according to him, the other is what it says in the law.
“The constitution, Article 96, says a representative of Serbs in the Government of Kosovo will be elected by the majority of representatives of that community in the Kosovo Assembly. There's no debate here. What Kurt has said he'll get, he doesn't know which Serb, it would be like we don't want Kurt for prime minister, but we'll get someone else. This is simply impossible”, Yevtic said.
He believes that if Kurt really wants to be Kosovo prime minister, he should take into account the fact that the Serbian List has won.
Speaking of election results when it comes to Albanian parties, Jevtic said the discontent was apparent and expressed through the election process.
“The message to those who have been in power for decades is that we are not satisfied with your work, we want new people, especially since Albin Kurti's party and Isa Mustaf's were in opposition to the past composition of parliament”, Jevtic said.
He added that the final results should be expected, as at this point there is not much difference between Vetevendosje as the first party and the LDK in second place, as votes by mail have not yet been counted, though most of them are supposed to go to Vetevendosje.
