Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has commented on the Time Ditore reporting, under which the German stance on the border issue has not changed.
“Imagine that Merkel tells the Timestar what she's been talking to me”, Vuciqi said, only to add that Germany's positions are known and confirmed at the meeting.
She doesn't change her attitudes every day, and neither do I. We both know we don't have the exact same position for Kosovo”, Vuciqi said in Davos.
He confirmed that independent Kosovo at the current borders will never recognise it.
Koha Ditore, calling to safe sources, has reported today that changing Kosovo's borders is unacceptable to Berlin. That has been the message Chancellor Merkel has repeated to Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq at their meeting held Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland.
The meeting held in the margins of the World Economic Forum of Davos has been used by German Chancellor, among other things, to clarify to the Serbian president that the German position about Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and the finally warned agreement has not changed, Koha Ditore has written in today's number.
A well-informed source has told the paper that at the meeting, Merkel has reminded Vuciqi of the Berlin position that changing Kosovo's borders is unacceptable. Correcting borders or exchanging territories is unacceptable to the German government, the source has said.
