Monday night in Gjilan there's been an accident killing. A person killed his wife while firing guns to celebrate New Year's arrival. Meanwhile, regarding this case, the State Attorney has demanded that suspect J. J, sent to custody for 30 days.
The Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan, through a communique, has indicated that shortly after the announcement of the case, the presiding prosecutor and the Kosovo Police Regional Investigation Unit have appeared at the scene.
To suspects J. J has been issued on ban during 48 hours. He's suspected of killing his wife, but he's also detained because of holding the gun without permission.
Meanwhile, in the prosecutor's communiqué, the suspect reportedly hit his wife in the back.
There is a suspicion that, on January 01, 2018, around 00:10 minutes, in the village of Selish, the Gjilan municipality, suspect J.J. (1958), due to negligence, his hunting rifle, which he has acquired without permission and authorisation, has now deprived his wife of life of the deceased Mr.J. (1956), in that way that while he was firing weapons into the air, for the New Year's Eve, the weapon was blocked and it didn't fire, by scratching, trying to fix it, the same has fired, and at a distance of 2-3 meters, it has hit the feeling, in the upper part of the back, causing lethal injuries to”, the prosecution's communique noted.
At the prosecutor's order, the lifeless body of the victim was sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Pristina for performing autopsy.
The state prosecutor, today, has ruled on the launch of investigations and has filed a request for the appointment of a 30-day detention measure at the Constitutional Court in Gjilan, which is expected to decide on the matter within the legal deadline.
