New power plant nowhere, government establishes company that will buy electricity from it

Still without much clarification for the future of the “New Kosovo”, the country's executive has rushed to establish Kosovo's New Energy Company.

The company will deal with the purchase of energy that will produce the thermal power plant and will sell the same to distribution operators.

That step comes after him takes place in May 2018, where the government named the board and board chairman, KTV reports.

Nevertheless, the establishment in this period is being described early by civil society.

According to Dardan Abbas from INDEP, this is causing only financial costs.

According to sources in the government, within the month, the ministry's budget has cost 38,000 euros to their salaries.

From the GAP Institute, researcher Bland Hyseni has indicated that the deadline for its establishment has not been set in the contract.

Economic Development Ministry officials have given no details, while the Prime Minister's Office has not indicated why company creation and staff recruiting have been needed.

Regarding the need for its establishment in 2018, be directed to the Ministry of Economic Development.

The thermal power plant project is expected to pass to the Kosovo Assembly during the first months of the year.

The Contour Global Company has not yet made the selection of construction companies.
