Gjakova citizens protest Serbian pilgrims' visit

They have warned that their call to protest does not concern their faith, but that among Serb pilgrims there are people who are familiar with the exploits during the war.

Once again January came, we still expect a group of Serbs to arrive in the town of Gjakova on the 6th. We, the citizens of Gjakova, have no problem with their faith, nor with their right to make pilgrimages, as interpreted by them. The problem we have is that among them are people we know of during the war. They have their last name. But we are witnesses that they were not investigated, judged, punished for their deeds. Under such circumstances when the institutional silence has added salt to our wounds, their visit to the city that was left with blood and burned to the ground is provocation. There is no other way but civil protest. Therefore, we, the citizens of Gjakova, call on all fellow citizens to join us on Sunday, on January 6th, on the <x0th Street Queen Teute,” from 8:00 a.m. Even this year we will protest peacefully. Our appearance proves that Gjakova has not forgotten. Our appearance proves that Gjakova requires justice for all crimes committed by the Serbian regime throughout Kosovo.
