Tomorrow, general strikes in education are expected to begin, according to the SBASK decision, but at the “Elena Gjika” in Pristina will be held regular teaching.
The staff of this school has come up with an attitude by which teachers support, but the strike does not make it the right tool.
Our school supports the requirements of the teachers to raise the pay coefy and be dignified, to live up to the status of teachers of the 1990s, but to find other forms of strike without damaging the teaching process. Education should be priority of priorities and declare national interest”, the announcement says.
The Kosovo Parents' Council, whose chairman Ymret Resiti, has also supported this stance.
“You have set an example of how general interest is valued before personal interest. We strongly support you on your right to raise salaries through social dialogue. You made us all proud of your act. We invite school teachers to follow the example of the school “Elena Gjika” and start the school process”, Resiti writes on Facebook.
Otherwise, SBASK's strike decision has resulted from the frustration of the salary coefyt for educators.
Against the strike has also come Education Minister Shyqi Bytyqi and the Parents' Council, who have declared the strike would harm children.
According to them, this issue should be settled institutionally, without damaging students. /Kosovo pres/
