Council of Students: Educators Witness the Demand for raise

For more than a week now, students in Kosovo's schools are not learning because of the SBASAK strike that resulted in the discontent of teachers concerning the salary cofficiency. While the SBASAK is demanding a 30 per cent salary co-fficiency increase by the Kosovo Student Council say [...]
While the SBASK is seeking a 30 per cent raise in wage cofficiency, the Kosovo Council of Students says teachers should protest poor school conditions as well.
KNK member Agon Rexhepi in an interview for Kosovo priss says KNK does not support the strike. According to them, education has bigger problems than educational salaries to protest.
“One of the reasons why we haven't supported the strike is that we're thinking that there are topics that need to be clarified more strongly, that maybe should have hit for the conditions we're learning, maybe we should have to strike for the general system of education, for the shortcomings it has, than for wages, but not, it hasn't happened at our teaching school to protest or to hold a strike in search of improved conditions<1>, says Rexhepi.
Rexhepi has also expressed sceptical whether teachers deserve salary increases. According to him, at first improved quality in education should be witnessed.
I don't know how much they deserve, maybe I'm expressing myself a little banal, but we can see the PISA results, and we can see how few students go to school if we speak sincerely, and I think that it's where they're expected, how they legalize and how they keep an hour in general. The strike has its reasons to hold on the other side, but maybe it's not the right time now, or it's just not the right way to do so, when they can learn and on the other hand use any other ve or channels that at the same time require salary growth and testify at work worthy of the increase of a” wage, Rexhepi says.
In the meantime, in regard to lost hours, the SBASK has suggested that they will not be replaced, but they will only do so if the teachers want to.
And according to Rexhepi, this would hurt the most seniors, who finish the lesson earlier because of the state seniorry.
“Anni why it's discussed replacing hours, we think they don't have the same effect, and most of those supplementary hours or substitutes are neglected by students, even at least it hurts students themselves, especially seniors, that is, only the end of the school year, and they should start preparing for the prom test or internal tests, and the absence of every hour will only penalise them<1>, Rexhepi says.
According to this council's response, this strike is denying them the right to education, and as such, they have demanded that it cease.
Kosova Prerss has contacted Ymer Ymer from SBASK to ask whether the strike will continue in the second week.
Ymer has confirmed that they have not withdrawn from the strikes, and at the same time has warned protests by SBASK if their demands are not met within the second week.
