After Zeka, even AAK deputy could be arrested for threatening Blakaj

The Declaration of MP Zeka, this prosecutor has named it a threat when he said that with the Special Prosecutor's Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), Africa Shefkiu, he will submit “to scores by law, with the canon and private”.

Such a statement, MP Zeka has issued it after this prosecutor has filed charges for allegations of visa fraud in Germany, and for this case he has proposed 907 witnesses expected to be heard when this court process begins.

Only two days after this media show by former journalist Zeka, the Prosecutor has requested his arrest, with the case being scheduled for 48 hours.

But this prosecutor had not done the same when, at the address of the retired prosecutor, Elez Blakaj, various threats had gone through, including those made by senior political and state officials.

Unless the prosecution had reacted to these persons, neither the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK) had come to the defense of former Blackaj prosecutor.

The most open threat to the former Blackaj prosecutor had made Deputy Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, Shkumbin Demalij, who is also one of the accused in the indictment of “Muslims”.

Demaliyaj had said prosecutor Blakaj would follow him privately if the state did not deal with him.

“If the state does not demand that he (Blakaj) return home to be tried for blackmailing the opinion, prosecution, I will be pursued once privately if the state does not take measures to follow. He is a deserter, thief, idiot, plech”, Demalijaj said in an interview on Kosovo Radio Television (RTK).

Contacted by “Justice Vow”, Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor's deputy prosecutor, Ibrahim Berisha, has said it is not about double standards.

Although Berisha has taken the threat of deputy Demaliyaj to Blakaj as very serious, he has said it has not been done the same because of the former prosecutor's distance, as he is in America.

He added, however, that he cannot say whether he will act the same as MP Zeka and his colleague, Demalijaj.

We are in consultation for all cases, and for this occasion (the threat to Elez Blakaj). But the case against Elez Blakaj has been at a distance. This could have been done here, while she's on Elez Blakay has a job going all the way to America. The threat to Elez Blakaj is also very serious. Jenna talking about this case. In addition to MP Demalijaj, his party chief, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, had used harsh language towards the former Blackaj prosecutor.

“Profiter, row, pool and chicken eater” were some of the words the head of the government, Ramush Haradinaj, had told the former prosecutor Blaj.

Everybody's saying what they want. It's not like that. True vets lose nobody. Not even a projector there. Let the law bring him to prison. But let's just say there's a lot in Dukagjin, so where have you been to insult these people? Eat chicken! Hein of chickens is the one who speaks so” had Haradinaj said in a Kohavision show.

Where is he? He's gone to America on the practice. I had to go to court and sign it. The danger is the threat because if it were, neither Azem Syla nor Sylejman Selimi nor Sami Lushtaku nor Daut Haradinaj had ash in prison for ten years. That's a lie. There's no threat. According to Haradinaj, the resigned prosecutor Blakaj, who had filed an indictment for inflating veterans' lists, is “the eater of chickens and swimming pool”.

I'm worried about this case because prosecutor Elez Blakaj has done this at someone's recommendation. The man's well-deserved to be a coward and run away from a job he took. He didn't want to run like a coward. I can't understand his action or his reasoning. He has fled as a coward”, Kosovo Republic MP Time Kadriaj has said.

The other deputy of the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament from the ranks of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ahmet Isufi, had said the published lists of fraud veterans on the part of Prosecutor Elez Blakaj were similar to lists compiled by the UDB of the Milosevic regime.

All these threats against former Blackaj prosecutors have remained untreated, while in proportion to threats to prosecutor Africa Shefkiu, police have reacted the following day, arresting Kosovo Republic of Kosovo deputy Milaim Zeka.

The KKP, in the case of former SPRK prosecutor Elez Blakaj's resignation, had described public discussions as a tendency to devalve the work of this council and state prosecutor, not to mention a single sentence for the former Blackaj prosecutor.

“Tendence to tarnish the work of the Prosecutorial Council and its organs, as well as efforts to devalit the State Prosecutor's work by anyone, including political groups, are unacceptable and to label them as interference in our work and violation of guaranteed independence with the Constitutions and law. We ensure the public opinion that the Council has created infrastructure and resources needed for the real work of prosecutors in carrying out their mandate in the non-compromy fight against crime of all forms. Also, the Council will not allow any kind of compromise, by no one and in no case, for any prosecutor, regardless of his position in the prosecutorial system, in case of violations and failure to carry out the job as required by law”, was said in the KPK's reaction to August 22nd of this year.

While, of a very different nature, it was the KPK's reaction to the threat against prosecutor Africa Shefkiu, where he had reacted even through a media communique.

Kosovo's “Prosecutorial Council strongly condemns public statements and threats, which have recently been directed at state prosecutors, in particular, penalises MP Milaim Zeka's threatening statement to the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo today, Mr. Africa Shefkiu” is said in yesterday's KKP communiqué.
