“Border Guard patrols have intensified in areas of interest. All reserve forces have been put on alert”, Ukrainian border guard spokesman Oleg Slobodyan was quoted as saying in a statement to the Ukrinform news agency.
Slobodyan said all persons and vehicles wishing to leave the DPS are not allowed to cross the contact line. The border guards are monitoring the situation,” he said.
The spokesman said border guards act in co-ordination with the command of the so-called Operation Unified Forces (name of Kiev government for military operation against the self-declared republics.
Meanwhile, the Rostov border department of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said the seven checkpoints at the Russo-Ukrainian border, located on the territory of the region, function in the normal regime. This includes checkpoints located on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic.
